WinBB (bounding box file creator)
a LaTeX utility

download (incld. Susie plug-ins for png and tiff)

Introduction

WinBB creates bounding box files for JPEG, WMF/EMF, GIF, BMP images. PNG, TIFF and other common file types are supported by using Susie Plug-Ins.

Bounding Box

A bounding box file contains the size definition information of an image file. It is needed when the image is included in a TeX document using the GRAPHICS package.

Installation

Place WinBB.exe in an arbitrary folder.

Visual basic 6.0 run-time package is necessary. When you encounter a message such as "no xxx.dll" or "comdlg32.ocx is old" something like (e.g. Component 'COMDLG32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered; a file is missing or old), please install the run-time files. The VB6 run-time files would be downloadable from popular software download sites.

Usage

File --- To choose a target image file

Folder --- To create bounding box files for the all image files included in the selected folder.

   # The created Bounding Box files are placed in the same directory as the target image file.

   # No files are created for unsupported image files.

   # Susie Plug-Ins must be placed in the directory where WinBB is located or in a search path. Currently the following types of files are supported but without any verification other than TIFF and PNG. Much about Susie Plug-Ins are described in the developer's home page but likely only in Japanese.

Png (*.png), Pi (*.pi) , MAG (*.mag) , XLD4 (*.q4), Pic (*.pic) , Pic2 (*.p2) , TiFF (*.tif), MAKI (*.mki)

   # Drag-and-drop is supported.

Uninstallation

Just delete WinBB.exe. WinBB needs no INI files or registry modification.
